Blues in the District Lineup Announced

4 May

Well folks, I’ve been receiving lot’s of requests recently for the free “Blues in the District” dates and lineups. I’ve had this for a while, but wasn’t going to post them until they got closer to the actual dates-but-your wish is my command here at quincyblues.com…

I need to give a disclaimer for this event however: These concerts are put on by the Quincy Historic Business District, not the Mid-Mississippi Muddy Water Blues Society. We have them to thank for this event, and kudo’s to Bret Austin and their group for their lineup this year. We hope that these events will continue grow our local folks into becoming real fans of the Blues music we know and love, and will encourage them to come see why folks travel from all over the country to come to our annual “Quincy Area Blues Fest”-and why we’ve been at this since the early 1990’s…

Notice-Change in lineup on July 10th (Blue Healers unavailable to perform that date)

Thanks for another great "Can Jam!"

4 May

We here at the MMMWBS would like to thank all the folks that helped out at this year’s “Can Jam”. Thanks to the folks at Turner Hall for having us (truly a great venue for music), of course-THE BANDS-THE FUNIONS, THE CHEESEBURGERS, AND RAISED ON RADIO! You all did a great job, and we were very well entertained throughout the afternoon. We also want to thank all the businesses who donated goods and services, the Volunteers-who make it all happen! and of course-all the folks who gave up a beautiful Sunday afternoon-to help out a good cause! We ended up collecting a big table full of canned goods, and we also handed over $200 to The Bethel A.M.E. Church’s Food Pantry-and they were very excited about this event. They thanked us for giving them this blessing, ad we were happy to do so. This event is for our Community-we do it as a way to give something back. And we look forward to doing this every year, and we look forward to the “Can Jam” every year! Thanks again everyone!
