I've got some "Inside Scoop"…

Hey everyone! I’ve been doing a little “snoopin’ around” and I’ve found out some info about some entertainment that we can see this upcoming spring and summer….
First, I’ve got the main lineup for the “ROUND BARN BLUES FEST” (Spring edition), to be held on May 1, 2010. Headlining the event will be the former 2000 Quincy Fest headliner–RONNIE BAKER BROOKS! And before RBB, will be past BID performers-HOWARD & THE WHITE BOYS! This will be a HOT SHOW! If you’ve never been-you are missing out on a great one day fest, and I’ll pass on more info as we get closer to the event.
And also–I’ve prodded out my first tidbit concerning the 2010 “Blues in the District” info for you…Coming back by popular demand, (after they had such a great show last year), will be past BID, and Blues Fest headliners–MISSISSIPPI HEAT, to return to Washington Park on August 27th, 2010. I do know more–but I’m not ready to share that info with you just yet….For now, let’s just say we’re going to have a good year of entertainment coming this year. This is just a reminder-that the 2nd Annual BLUE NOTE DERBY is Saturday Night, starting at 7pm, at Turner Hall, 926 Hampshire, here in Quincy. Admission is just $3 per person, and $5 per couple, we’ll have live music, and food and drink will be available for purchase. I believe that BBQ pulled pork sandwiches are on the nights menu,though not positive on that-I do know that we’ll have something good there to eat. Blues at "Hannibal Uncorked"

“Hannibal Uncorked” Fall Wine Crawl October 10th, from 5pm till ? The event Starts at Kerley’s Pub at 214 North Main St. (after 5pm) Cost is $20.00 each, and includes a wine crawl tasting glass and event t-shirt, your tasting coupons and snacks at every stop. You then can sample wine and snacks and move around to other places at your own pace. Along with Kerley’s the following wine pubs and restaurants will host samplings with different wines and munchies at each stop The North Wall Wine & Beer Garden, The Main Street Wine Stoppe, Lula belle’s, Badger Cheese Haus, Rumor Has It Bar & Grill, TJ’s Supper Club and The Abbey Rose Restaurant.

The music Starts around 8:00 pm, and features Delta Acoustic Blues performer Rich Berry at Kerley’s Pub, and Classic Rock and dance band “Ultimatium” at the North Wall Wine & beer Garden.

Transportation is also available from and back to Brix Wine & Cheese Shop (in Quincy) Via the Hannibal Trolley for $15.00 per person. Blues in the District Lineup Announced

Well folks, I’ve been receiving lot’s of requests recently for the free “Blues in the District” dates and lineups. I’ve had this for a while, but wasn’t going to post them until they got closer to the actual dates-but-your wish is my command here at quincyblues.com…

I need to give a disclaimer for this event however: These concerts are put on by the Quincy Historic Business District, not the Mid-Mississippi Muddy Water Blues Society. We have them to thank for this event, and kudo’s to Bret Austin and their group for their lineup this year. We hope that these events will continue grow our local folks into becoming real fans of the Blues music we know and love, and will encourage them to come see why folks travel from all over the country to come to our annual “Quincy Area Blues Fest”-and why we’ve been at this since the early 1990′s…
